Video / Audio Head Demagnetizer
Video heads, audio heads, capstans, and metallic guides can become magnetized from repeated use. The resulting magnetic field on these parts results in a very slight erasure of a tape each time you play it. Over time, this degrades the quality of the video and audio tapes. Furthermore magnetized video or audio heads will not allow to read out full HF frequency from the tape. This may additionally degrade the quality of the video or audio signal output.
The demagnetizer will remove this magnetism. Plug the demagnetizer into an AC outlet. Place the tip close to the head or guide and use a slight rotary motion to cover the entire surface area of the head. Slowly withdraw the demagnetizer to a distance of approximately 450mm / 18" from the head, and then unplug the demagnetizer. Note: Do not use around video or audio tapes - the demagnetizer can partially erase recorded tapes when it is plugged in.
The Video / Audio Head Demagnetizer is designed for 220-240V AC operation (Euro Plug).
